Round-up of the WI’s presence at the 2026 Royal Welsh Show

We had a successful four days at the Royal Welsh Show in July 2026. Hosted by Powys Brecknock Federation, the stand included an eye-catching exhibit on the theme The Great Forest of Brecknock which included a beautiful display of trees.

Here are some of the highlights from our week:

  • We were visited on the stand by Jeryl Stone, NFWI Chair; Sioned Williams MS, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice and Equality; Huw Irranca-Davies, Llywydd/Presiding Officer of the Senedd; David Chadwick, MP for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe; Teleri Glyn Jones, Royal Welsh Show representative.
  • The daily demonstrations, from stone painting and origami to spinning and weaving, generated great interest.
  • Lisa Howells, NFWI-Wales and Iona Roberts, Powys Brecknock Federation were interviewed for the S4C coverage of the highlights from the Show.
  • We had spectacular entries in our Rose Bowl and Brecon Cup competitions, on theme Circles, Rings and All Things Round. The entries were on display throughout the week for visitors to admire. Find out more about the competition winners.
