The WI is the largest women’s organisation in the UK, and in our inspiring history we have consistently championed the education and rights of women. We are a supportive and progressive organisation, and we pride ourselves on being a trusted space for women of all generations to come together to share experiences and learn from each other. For over 100 years, the WI movement has been instrumental in achieving positive change for women and for society, campaigning on a range of issues from modern slavery to climate change, mental health, and violence against women. Our vision is to offer support and opportunity to every woman who wants it, giving women a voice to make an even bigger impact and continue being a force for change in our world.
Join and Support
This year to celebrate WI Day we launched a video to show you all the amazing things our movement gets up and what you can be a part of. Get involved!
Why should I join the WI?
How can I join or support the WI?
There are ways of joining and supporting the WI that are suitable for everyone.
WI membership is for any woman who wants to join her local WI group and regularly attend meetings. These can be a mixture of online as well as physical meetings. Each WI is unique and will be happy to discuss their WI’s benefits and calendar of events with prospective members.
If you're passionate about our campaigns and would like to become part of the largest women’s organisation in the UK, but don't want to attend regular meetings then our Supporter scheme might be for you.
Leaving a legacy
If, once you have provided for your loved ones, you are able to, please consider a legacy to the future work of the WI. Whether you choose to support your local WI, your federation or the work and campaigns of the NFWI - or all three - the WI promises to use every penny wisely to enable more women to do extraordinary things.
What are the benefits of joining the WI?
