Learn Welsh with the WI

In 2019 we teamed up with the National Centre for Learning Welsh to develop a beginner’s online Welsh language course specifically for WI members. This initiative was introduced after a survey undertaken by NFWI-Wales found that 13% of members in Wales expressed an interest in learning Welsh.
The course is made up of 6 units and lasts a total of 10 hours. It is flexible and can be completed at any time to suit your own pace. If you’re looking to learn a new language or brush up on your Welsh language skills, this fun and interactive course will be perfect for you!

Buddy Scheme

To support members in practising their Welsh language skills, we have set up a Buddy Scheme.

If you are learning Welsh with the WI and would you like someone to practise with, contact walesoffice@nfwi-wales.org.uk and we will put you in touch with a Welsh speaker who would be willing to chat with you to improve your Welsh language skills.
