Ann Mitchell

Ann Mitchell was co-opted to the NFWI Board in November 2022 and elected in 2023. Ann currently sits on the Denman Trust Board and Membership Committee. Ann has previously served as a Member Representative on the former Training and Development Committee, and the NFWI Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Focus Group.

Ann joined the WI in 2012 when she moved to Yorkshire and is currently the President of Sewerby WI and a founding member of East Yorkshire Roses Virtual WI. Ann is Vice Chair of the East Yorkshire Federation Board of Trustees having been co-opted as a Trustee in May 2020. She trained as a WI Adviser in 2019 and was elected Federation Membership Chairman in January 2021. Ann also sits on the East Yorkshire Voices Focus Group developing public affairs strategies. In addition, Ann is a member of the Humberside and Lincolnshire Police Commission Violence against Women and Girls Independent Advisory Board.

Ann started her career leading a sales and marketing team for an international drinks company before relocating to work for Lloyd’s of London as a broker. Her move to Yorkshire led her to retrain in the primary education sector specialising in SEND.

Ann’s interests include sea swimming and kayaking along with volunteering within her local community.
