French Onion Soup
A classic warming soup for when the weather turns cold.
The addition of a large croute of bread with cheese turns this soup into a more satisfying dish when you are hungry!
- 25g Margarine
- 2 large Onions, sliced into fine rings
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 rounded tsp Flour
- pinch Sugar
- 1/2 litre Beef Stock
- Prepare onions, melt margarine, add onion rings and seasonings and saute over medium heat until golden brown, 5-10 minutes.
- Stir in flour and sugar. Add stock, bring to boil and simmer 20-25 minutes until onions are tender.
- Serve with grated cheese.
