Pears in Cider

Serves: 12 but could easily be reduced

Ingredients

  • 12 large Pears
  • 900g Sugar
  • Sweet Cider
  • Cinnamon stick to taste

Method

Peel, core and half pears leaving part of the stem on each quarter.

Place in saucepan with sugar, a cinnamon stick and sufficient sweet cider to cover.

Stew gently until quite tender. Best served chilled.

Tip

Leftover pears will keep for a day or 2 maximum if covered and kept in the fridge.
