Ginger Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1lb Self Raising Flour
- 6ozs Lad
- 1/2 lb Treacle (Golden Syrup)
- Salt
- 1/2 lb Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
Method
- Sift flour and sugar into a bowl.
- Add salt, ginger and bicarbonate of soda.
- Beat egg.
- Melt golden syrup and lard, and add to dry ingredients.
- Add beaten egg and mix well.
- Shape into balls the size of walnuts and flatten with hand.
- Bake in a moderate oven until golden brown.
