Members created digital stories to record and promote their activities and events; capture historical moments; and to share the experiences of WI members.
WI members established links with schools, after-school clubs and others in their local area to teach children and young people various crafts such as knitting, crochet, patchwork and paper crafts.
NFWI-Wales worked in partnership with Global Action Plan to support WI members in setting up EcoTeams. Fourteen teams were established by WIs in Glamorgan, Ceredigion and Sir Gâr-Carmarthenshire federations during 2007 and 2008.
Between 2005 and 2008, WI members supported over 100 primary schools to develop their school gardens. The case studies booklet illustrates some of the successful gardening projects carried out.
To encourage and support more women to get involved in public life, NFWI-Wales in partnership with Oxfam UK Poverty Programme and the former Wales Women's National Coalition, established the Women Making a Difference Project in 2005. NFWI-Wales managed the project until it became an independent organisation on 1 October 2014.
