NFWI-Wales has responded to the Inquiry into Public Libraries by the National Assembly for Wales Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee.  In our response we highlighted the importance of a professional library service and shared the findings of the WI research into community managed libraries

Love your Libraries Debate at the Assembly

Hundreds of Love your Libraries postcards were handed over to Huw Lewis AM, Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage, at an event organised by the NFWI-Wales Office in the Assembly on 31 January 2012.  Hosted by William Powell AM, the event was addressed by NFWI-Wales Chair Margaret Lloyd Jones, Huw Lewis AM, author Phil Carradice and Karen Gibbins, Chair of CILIP Cymru.

Libraries Inspire

In November 2011 the Welsh Government launched Libraries Inspire, the strategic development framework for Welsh libraries 2012–16. The strategy outlines the government's priorities for libraries in Wales over the next five years.
