Public Affairs Conference: 12 October 2016

Over 60 members attended the Public Affairs Conference in Builth Wells on 12 October 2016.

Keynote speakers included:-

  • Marylyn Haines Evans, Chair of the NFWI Public Affairs Committee;
  • Sophie Howe, Commissioner for Future Generations;
  • Dr Andrew Goodall, Director General Health / Chief Executive of NHS Wales;
  • Lianne Martynski, Criminal Justice Lead, Hafal Cymru;
  • Huw Jones, Programme Area Manager for Food Waste Prevention at WRAP Cymru

Workshops were held on the following subjects:-  

  • Healthcare for Everyone led by Jane Green, Welsh NHS Confederation;
  • Have your say on the Wales you Want for Future Generations led by Sophie Howe, Future Generations Commissioner;
  • How to communicate climate change with the general public led by George Marshall, Climate Outreach; and  
  • Love Food Hate Waste: the WI helping to achieve a food waste-free society led by Sian Morgan and Hugh Jones, WRAP Cymru.
