Our Health in Our Hands

NFWI-Wales is working in collaboration with the Bevan Commission to engage WI members in discussions within their WI about their experiences of health and care services. This project complements our Link Together campaign to alleviate loneliness and our new campaign Make Time for Mental Health.

On a regular basis we hear about the increasing pressures and expectations on the NHS.  Obesity rates continue to rise, our dependency on medical solutions is high, we have a growing ageing population and we are seeing an increased prevalence of complex and long- term conditions.

The Our Health in Our Hands project aims to engage WI members in Wales in starting a conversation within their WIs and with their family, friends and community members about the importance of taking care of themselves and making prudent health and care decisions. This will help influence and inform others to ensure that we create the very best health and healthcare services now and for our future generation.

A promotional flyer, worksheet and resource pack are available to support members to facilitate a discussion at a WI meeting.
