Bulgogi (Beef Stir Fry)

Serves: 2 - 3

Ingredients

  • 300g Beef, sirloin or rump (frying steak) thinly sliced
  • 100g Carrots, finely thinly sliced
  • 4 Shiitake Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 Onion, sliced
  • 1/2 Leek, diagonally sliced

Marinade

  • 250ml Water
  • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 4 tbsp Pineapple Juice
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 clove of Garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp Sesame Seed plus extra for serving
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Method

Make the marinade by combining all of the ingredients.

Place meat in a non-metallic dish add all the vegetables except the leek, then pour over the marinade.

Gently mix, cover and leave in a cool place for at least 30 mins.

Heat up your wok or large frying pan, oil or fat should not be needed.

Add the marinaded ingredients and cook, stirring all the time for 5 minutes.

Stir in the leek  and heat through for a few minutes.

Serve immediately with a sprinkling of sesame seeds.
