Alsatian Chicken & Cheese Flan
Chicken and cheese a tasty combination with 2 animal protein foods and this recipe suits a variety of settings from family lunches to outdoor picnics
Ingredients
- 150g Shortcrust Pastry
- 25g Butter
- 2 Rashers Streaky Bacon
- 1 small Onion
- 50g Mushrooms
- Small Carton Single Cream
- 50g Cheddar Cheese
- 150g Cooked Chicken Breast Meat
- 1 Egg, beaten
- Seasoning
Method
- Line 20cm flan ring or pie plate with pastry
- Set oven 175C Gas Mark 5
- Chop the bacon and slice the mushrooms and gently fry in the butter
- Add the cream and heat until nearly boiling
- Remove from the heat
- Grate the cheese and stir into the cream mixture until melted
- Add the chicken and beaten egg
- Season well
- Pour into the pastry case and bake for about 20 mins until set and nicely browned
- Serve hot or cold with asaparagus or a mixed tossed salad

Blind bake the pastry for 15 mins at 190C
