PR Officer

£30,224 plus benefits

Hybrid, with at least one day per week at our London office

The WI is the largest women’s organisation, with over 190,000 members. It plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and a chance to build new skills and campaign on issues that matter to them.

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (the NFWI) is an umbrella body providing support and advice to members at both regional and local levels.

As our PR Officer, you will proactively promote our campaigns, activities and events to the media, general public and external audiences across a broad range of channels. We will expect you to raise our profile significantly, and you will act as our first point of contact for media stakeholders whilst developing an effective communications strategy, utilising digital channels to the full and supporting membership recruitment initiatives. About you

You will be experienced in PR within a charity setting, you will be adept at engaging journalists, skilled in drafting press releases and articles, and well versed in all aspects of social media. Equally importantly, you should be familiar with engaging photographers and videographers, knowledgeable regarding the media landscape, and highly IT literate, including significant exposure to databases.

You will be familiar with developing an effective communications strategy and be passionate about women’s issues, ready to go the extra mile to make our message heard.

In return, we will offer you a hybrid working arrangement, which means a minimum of one day a week in the office and the rest from home although you can work up to three days in the office if preferred, 28 days’ annual leave, membership of our Healthcare scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, and more.
