Crab Cakes

This is a versatile recipe. It serves 4 as a main course, 8 as a starter or you can make small bite size cakes to serve as cocktail snacks


  • 450g Crab Meat
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2tsp Worcester Sauce
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Parsley, chopped
  • Flour
  • Egg, beaten
  • Dry White Breadcrumbs
  • Oil to fry


  1. Place the crabmeat in a bowl and mash lightly with a fork
  2. Work in the mayonnaise, worcester sauce and egg yolk
  3. Season with pepper, mustard and parsley
  4. Divide into 8 equal flat cakes, pressing the mixture firmly together with your hands
  5. Dip in flour, beaten egg and dry breadcrumbs
  6. Fry quickly on both sides in shallow hot oil

Serve with lemon wedges and a salad
