Cider Cup

Ingredients

  • 200g Sugar, preferably cubes
  • 300 ml Water
  • 1 Lemon
  • 600 ml Chilled cider, still
  • 1/2 wine glass Sherry or Rum
  • 600 ml Soda Water - to taste
  • 3 or 4 slices Red Apple
  • Sprigs of Mint or Borage

Method

Dissolve the sugar in water.

Add the thinly peeled lemon rind.

Bring to the boil.

Strain into a jug.

Chill then add the cider.

When ready to serve, strain in the lemon juice.

Stir in the sherry or rum.

To serve add soda water to taste and a sprig of mint or borage.
