Annual Meeting Resolution Result 2021

In the lead up to and following the Annual Meeting, WIs have been discussing the proposed ovarian cancer resolution and deciding how they wish to vote.

We are happy to confirm that the resolution ‘A call to increase awareness of the subtle signs of ovarian cancer’ has passed with a majority of 99.48%.

This means the resolution is now an NFWI mandate and will form the basis of a national WI campaign which all members are invited to work on.

What happens next?

You can now download our briefing on the new campaign with background information and some initial ideas about how you can take action.

The NFWI Public Affairs Department will be producing a full campaign action pack with ideas and resources that you can use to take the campaign forward. This will be available on the NFWI website and My WI when it is ready.

If your WI has planned any activities for the campaign, we would love to hear about it. Please do get in touch with us at

You can use our meeting/event evaluation form to track the impact of your activities on a local level as part of this campaign. Please share the form with anyone who attends a meeting or event you are organising on ovarian cancer, and ask them to return it to the NFWI Public Affairs Department by email using the email address above.

You can download the evaluation form here.

If you have any questions about the resolutions process or NFWI campaigns, please contact the Public Affairs Department via email ( or phone (020 7371 9300 ext. 238).
