Course Title: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park: Its legacy & history
Course Tutor: Peter Lawrence
With the success of the 2012 London Olympics, this course traces the history of the Stratford location to become the amazing space we can all enjoy today. The course will include a day at the Olympic Park with visits to various locations, including the Velodrome, and a boat trip along the River Lee and the Bow Back Rivers that have run through the area for centuries. This is an “out and about” course, therefore a reasonable amount of walking stamina and the correct all weather clothing and footwear will be essential.

Course Title: Ramble and Explore the Evenlode Valley (6 miles)
Course Tutor: John Harris and Christine Booth
Enjoy a full day walking along the Evenlode Valley, deep in the Cotswolds from Combe to Charlbury, stopping for a picnic lunch. There will be time to explore this beautiful town and to have a picnic tea before returning to Denman.
On the Sunday morning there will be a short local walk with plenty of time to discuss points of interest. Morning coffee, picnic lunch and afternoon tea are all included. Proper walking kit and a reasonable level of fitness will be required to cover the distance, come rain or shine.

Course Title: Stitch a Summer Meadow
Course Tutor: Richard Box
This is for all of you who want to learn Richard’s method of combining fabric collage with both machine and hand embroidery and, thereby produce rich and sumptuous effects. A “Learning Pack” containing fabric and patterns will be supplied.

Course Title: Britain with Betjeman
Course Tutor: John Vigar
Whilst John Betjman is bet known as a poet, this course his life story and the pivotal role he played in saving our built heritage. We will visit some buildings associated with Betjeman and watch and discuss some of his iconic films. The tutor was lucky enough to have known Betjeman and this will be a very personal journey.

Course Title: Singing: Carole King – “Tapestry”
Course Tutor: Jo Sercombe
Spend time exploring King’s earthy pop style and learning to sing tracks from this enduring album in this relaxed group-singing workshop There’s no need to read music, and all levels of experience are welcome.

Course title : Gardens of Delight
Course Tutor: Anna Steven
We will visit Broughton Grange and Rousham, one of Monty Don’s favourite gardens. You will explore the planting schemes behind these delightful gardens. These visits can involve a substantial amount of walking, including rough ground and steps. Please wear stout footwear and be prepared for the British weather!

Course Title: Let’s Make Cheese
Course Tutor: Louise Talbot
Join farmers wife and cheese maker Louise for a fascinating course in making cheese at home. You will learn how to make a range of soft cheeses, halloumi, mozzarella, mascarpone, butter, cream cheese and ricotta using domestic utensils.
