About us

Welcome to the Teesside Federation

Formed in April 1983, following the re-organisation of the Durham and Yorkshire Federations, we have 37 Institutes with some 1200-1300 members.

Each WI meets monthly with a speaker or demonstrator and the chance to socialise with old friends and make new ones.

Members' ages can range from the 20s to the over-80s and include mothers, career women and farmers' wives among others.

To cater for these institutes, together with the federation, we organise a range of activities from sporting and walking through to craft and social events. The regular County Newsletter is available to keep members informed of what is happening.

Anyone interested is welcome to visit one or more of their local Institutes to find what suits them. There is no stereotype.

You can find the nearest branches by contacting Mel at the Federation office.
