Oxfordshire Federation has a number of Committees organising events, day trips and workshops for Oxfordshire members. We outline their particular interests below.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Oversees and manages all aspects of the Federation including committees, staffing and policy. Maintains contact with the National Federation and implements its directives and mandates. Also responsible for the prudent management of all assets, cost control and the production of annual accounts.
This Committee strives to give members opportunities to learn new and improve on existing skills in all aspects of the arts. Visits to art galleries, museums and theatres are arranged by this group, which also organises the Christmas musical evening. It also arranges Speakers Selection Days for applicants wishing to be on the Federation's Speakers' List.
OUT AND ABOUT
Formed to organise day trips to places of interest within a reasonable distance of Oxfordshire.
Organises events highlighting individual countries and the lives and problems of their inhabitants. ACWW comes into the brief, aiming to help women and their families in the developing world to help themselves.
HOME & GARDEN
Aims to encourage and maintain a high standard in home-crafts, horticulture, food production and presentation and to recommend and encourage the development of Home Economics by organising competitions, exhibitions, demonstrations etc.
Mainly comprises WI Advisers and is responsible for all aspects and development of WIs. It offers help, advice and training to members and encourages the promotion of the aims of the WI.
WI campaigns are about changing things for the better and tackling the issues that matter to members. Members are at the heart of the WI and they play a central role in bringing issues onto the WI's national agenda through our public affairs and campaigning.Also offers help and advice on submission of Resolutions and discussion of Resolutions being debated.
