Saturday 19 January - New Year Walk, Nether Heyford
10am Start Approx. 5 miles

This gentle walk will begin at The Olde Sun, Nether Heyford along field boundaries and across pasture land to Bugbrooke. The group will return to The Olde Sun via the grand Union Canal towpath for an optional lunch . Saturday 26 January - My WI for Treasurers
WI House 10am-12noon or 1.30-3.30pm

Would you like to do your WI accounts online? Then this workshop is for you. Come along to WI house where the Federation Treasurer along with the Membership and training Committee will be happy to show you how.

Saturday 2 February - Crochet Workshop, The Next Step
WI House 10am - 1pm

This workshop is aimed at beginners and intermediates. The session will cover reading and understanding a pattern. There will also be time to make something small; to take home.

Friday 15 February - Jigsaw Fun Day
WI House 10am - 3.30pm 

Each table will have 4 people on working on a jigsaw depicting a scene from around the world. The first table to finish will win a small prize. Bring a packed lunch and we will supply the tea/coffee at what is sure to be a fun day.

Saturday 23 February - Walk from the Southern Side, to visit Wootton and Preston Deanery Area
10am Start Approx. 4-5 Miles
Meet at the Queen Eleanor pub on Newport Pagnell Road. Parking available in the pub car park and lunch can be pre ordered.

Saturday 23 February - Presidents and Secretaries Workshop
WI House 10am-noon or 1.30-3.30pm

New and established Presidents and Secretaries are welcome at this workshop. The membership and Training Committee will be there to answer questions, explain the responsibilities of your role and work through any questions you may have. A great chance to come together and share ideas.

Thursday 21 March - Visit to Trentham Gardens
You still have time to book your space on the coach for this visit to Trentham Garden Estate. There is plenty to see and do on the estate. There is the famous Italian gardens recently revived by multi Chelsea Gold-Medal winner Tom Stuart-Smith. In the heart of the gardens is the mile long Trentham Lake designed by Capability Brown. There is a shopping village to browse and plenty of places for refreshments.

Saturday 23 March - The Great Faberdashery Sale
Denman College  10am to 3pm
Pick up some bits for your projects - from fabrics to needles, buttons and much more! Lots of Fabrics, Haberdashery and Craft materials. All welcome, no need to be a WI member.  Free Entry

Monday 25 March - Annual Meeting & Resolution Briefing Conference
WI House 7-9pm

Are you a delegate at Bournemouth next year? Will you be leading the resolution discussions at  your May meeting? Or perhaps you are just interested in finding out more on the chosen topics? Then please come along and listen to knowledgeable speakers, ask any question you may have and join in the debate. It is also a good opportunity for delegates to meet other members travelling to Bournemouth on 5th June next year.

Saturday 30 March - Basic Easter Cake Icing Workshop
WI House - 10am-2pm

This workshop will cover the basics of using Fondant icing to cover an Easter cake. You will need to bring along an 8" round or square cake, fruit or plain. Home made or shop bought is fine. The cake should be on a 102 Drum Board and you will also require a rolling pin. Everything else you will need on the day will be provided.

A chance for new members to meet the Membership and Training Sub-committee and other new members from across the county at WI House. Learn more about the WI, its structure and history. Tea and cake guaranteed!

Denman Federation Weekend - Three courses
Have you always fancied going to Denman but never got around to it? Don't want to go on your own? Worried about getting there because you don't drive? Well here is your opportunity. We are organising a weekend next April, so come with other members and have a fun time AND make new friends.  There will be 3 pick-ups - either Kettering OR Wellingborough, WI House at Moulton and Towcester. We will leave early mid-afternoon on Friday and arrive back in Northampton Sunday after lunch. There are three courses to choose from - Blenheim and the Churchills, including a full day visit to Blenheim and Bladon Church, Pewterwork and thirdly Wildlife Walks, including river rambling. Full details are with your WI Secretary in September, or ask WI House to send you your own copy.  Look forward to you joining us!

Tuesday 9 April - County Quiz 2019
Wicksteed Park  7pm to 10.15pm approx
This will be a fun evening with a mix of easy, more challenging and then even more challenging questions but something for everyone. Teams are to consist of WI members, 4 to a team, but two WIs may band together to form one team if they wish. Refreshments are available to purchase or bring your own nibbles. Visit to Chipping Campden and Sezincote House - Thursday 23 May
On this trip we will have exclusive access to Sezincote House, a 200 year old mansion set in the Cotswold countryside. There is a tour of the house and time to visit the gardens too. You will then leave for the short journey onto Chipping Campden, here there is plenty to see and do to include the wool church of St James, Court Barn Museum of local arts and crafts, Lady Juliana's Gateway and the Jacobean Banqueting Houses.

Black Country Living Museum - Thursday 20 June
Set in 26 acres, this open-air museum will give you a glimpse into 300 years of history. Chat to one of the costumed characters about living and working in one of the worlds most heavily industrialised landscapes. So much to explore and discover, perhaps you would like to browse the period shops and houses, descend into the drift mine to experience the harsh reality of a miners work, try your luck at the fair or take a trip on one of the heritage vehicles?

Four Day Stay in Sunderland - 13-17 October
A packed itinerary for this 4 day trip to include a visit to Lotherton Hall just outside Leeds, a Blue Badge Guided tour of Newcastle, a trip to the fascinating Beamish Museum and a visit to Trinity House, the 16th century home of one of the oldest charitable guilds for seafarers and now a maritime museum. The cost of the holiday includes dinner, bed and breakfast at The Grand Hotel in Sunderland, entry to Lotherton Hall, entry to Beamish Museum, the tour of Lotherton Hall and the tour of Trinity House.
