Leisure Activities

We currently have 7 members on this committee and meet at the office in alternate months. We encourage members to take part in sporting and leisure activities.  We organise demonstrations, lectures, instruction and competitions in leisure and sporting activities.  Suggestions for events are always welcome.

Among the regular events which take are 10-pin bowling and darts tournaments.

The Bridge Club meets on Wednesday mornings in The House and hold bridge lunches twice a year.  The Mah Jong Club also meets fortnightly in The House.

There are taster days for activities that members have expressed an interest in, including Petanque, dance days, Canasta, Tai Chi and, new in 2017, Walking Netball.

Twice a year we organise a “Fun Food & Fitness” day.

Leisure Activities also arrange outings to places of interest, such as the WI Fair and the Tiptree Museum in Colchester (including a cream tea!), together with the annual Federation holidays (recent holidays have been in Northumberland and Cornwall).

We are looking for new members to join our subcommittee and will welcome anyone who would enjoy helping us with these events or who has new ideas for events we could organise in the future.
