We are Sailing!

Wednesday 17 July 2019

Please come and join us on our cruise

We will travel to Rutland Water in time to board the Rutland Belle for our private guided cruise including tea, coffee and biscuits.  We will be told about the history of the reservoir and how and why it was created and finally finished in 1976.  How it has become not only a precious water supply but a wonderful haven for wildlife and recreational activities.

We will also visit Normanton Church (subject to weather conditions) which sits in the middle of the reservoir and was ‘saved from the waves’ to become a landmark of the reservoir and now a licensed civil marriage venue.

When our reservoir visit is complete we will travel to the lovely market town of Oakham where you will have free time to explore.

I promise you this little town has it all!

Rutland Belle has a boarding lift for disabled access. For those unable to manage the three steps down inside the boat, the crew are happy to operate the hydraulic lift, designed to take wheelchairs.

Please note that the visit to the church may not be suitable for anyone with severely restricted mobility but passengers are welcome to relax on board whilst the boat waits alongside the Church.
