Julia Roberts - NFWI Honorary Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee

Julia was elected to the NFWI Board in 2011. She became the NFWI Honorary Treasurer in 2014 and chairs the Finance Committee. She also sits on the WIE Board and Denman Committee.

Julia was Chair of the Membership Committee from 2013 to 2014. Julia represents the NFWI on the LSE Archives Advisory Board, Linking Environment and Farming Advisory Committee, and the Payments UK, Customer Engagement Network.

Julia spent 20 years working for a large Building Society, acting as Branch Supervisor for several years. From 1996 to 2013 Julia developed skills in archiving paper and electronic records, working in Information and Records Management for Worcestershire County Council. In her last position, she worked alongside a team of assistants as a Senior Archives Assistant. On top of working full-time, Julia spent 9 years acting as a housemaster’s wife and “mother” to 45 boys at King’s School Worcester, when it was a boarding school between 1980 and 1989, her two children were born during those years. Since leaving the County Council she has worked as a schools exam invigilator.

Julia joined Martley WI in 1991 and is a dual member of Hanley Castle WI and Worcester Belles WI. Julia has been a committee member for 25 years, acting as Treasurer for 11 and Vice President for several years.

She was Chairman of Worcestershire Federation between 2008 and 2011. Julia served as Assistant Federation Treasurer between 2000 and 2004, Federation Treasurer between 2004 and 2008, a Denman Representative and finally Chairman of the Ad Hoc Show Committee 2012. Julia has also trained as an Independent Financial Examiner Trainer.

Julia enjoys singing, walking and visiting the theatre. Julia also has special interests in history, Portugal and literature. She is a member of the Three Counties Agricultural Society, the National Trust and the RHS.
