| We are a bi-lingual federation and several of our WIs are run in Welsh.
We were established in 1920 and we have the second oldest WI in Wales and England Although some or our members are octogenarians (or more!) we are very active and young at heart.
Our activities include walking and rambling in our beautiful countryside, swimming, croquet, bowling both indoors and outdoors, table tennis and archery. Obtaining the ‘double’ at darts offers us no problem. Many of us are golfers, and we take part in ‘keep fit’ sessions and aerobics. We are also dancers – tap, line, folk, you name it, we do it, even belly dancing!
On a less active note, we are into whist, scrabble, and have you heard of Tipit? Crafts we do on a large scale, and there is no limit to our talents! Decoupage, parchment work, quilling, patchwork, quilting, cross-stitch, painting, and we have also tried leather work, dress making and, of course, cookery. Have we time for anything else? Oh yes, there's drama, singing, entertaining and writing.
We make our voices heard from local government to Westminster itself, and we care for the young and the elderly, working for a safer and healthier environment for everyone in our local communities. Whatever we do, we have fun and pleasure in doing it together. Why not join us?
