County chairman’s Letter
Annwyl Aelodau – Dear Members,
Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd, Happy New Year to you all.
This is my third year in office as your chairman and it is as much a privilege as it was the first time, I will do all I can to see our County among the best in the year ahead. Once again I have to thank the Executive for their loyal support and hard work. My sincere thanks to Pat, our Federation Secretary, for her guidance and encouragement throughout the past year.
Last year was a very busy but albeit a very successful one. We were able to accomplish all that we planned. The Federation of Wales eve of Conference entertainment was a tremendous success as was the Conference day itself. The publishing of our second Poetry Book and the recording and marketing of the CD by the Choir was another triumph. My heartfelt thanks to you all for your support in whatever capacity you were involved – diolch yn fawr.
The Celebration Concert to mark our 85th year as a Federation was a wonderful evening and will always stay in my memory.
So to 2012, the various sub committees have many and varied events planned for this year, may I appeal to you to support as many as you can. We are always happy to receive any suggestions for activities that you may like us to have. Our aim is to please our members; a happy membership makes for a happy Executive. May I also appeal to you to make sure you read the monthly letter so you are aware of all that is happening and don’t miss out.
Congratulations to all the WI’s who will be celebrating special birthdays this year.
Before I conclude my letter I must pay tribute to Ruby Peach, a friend and colleague, who sadly passed away on December 25th. Ruby had been a faithful member of the WI for many years and for the last four years she held the office of County Treasurer. A diligent and competent member of the Executive, she will be sorely missed.
My very best wishes for a happy and successful year in your individual WI’s,
Pob hwyl i chi gyd.
Amaryllis - County Chairman
