Welcome to the Guernsey Federation

Guernsey is the smallest, but we think the friendliest, federation that has just celebrated its 60th anniversary.

We have 425 members in 15 WI’s in the islands of Guernsey and Alderney. They range in size from our smallest at Rosaire Court with 13 members to Alderney our largest with 48 members.
Jenny Cottell, Guernsey Federation Chairman
Our newest is GY WI, they already have 37 members who are all young and enthusiastic, they meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at St. Andrew’s Church of Scotland in St. Peter Port.

Clos du Valle and Western a.m. both meet in the mornings at 9.30 a.m.  Rosaire and Fermain meet at 2.15 p.m.  All the rest meet at 7.30 p.m. on various days of the month. (Click here to view the complete list)

All our WI’s are different so it is worth trying one, two or even three before joining a particular WI, after all Guernsey is only 9 miles by 5 miles, so nowhere is very far!

Our Executive Committee looks after the running of the Federation, with sub-committees covering Arts and Home Crafts, International, Membership, Sports and Leisure, and the newly established Public Affairs.  All these committees arrange classes and other events during the year, so we are all kept pretty busy!

If you are new to the Islands then this is the ideal way of meeting people, making friends, learning new skills, helping others, but above all enjoying yourself.

If you are visiting Guernsey or Alderney then you would be welcome to attend a meeting or event, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Federation Chairman
