| Situated in the Irish Sea, the island is just 12 miles wide and 32 miles long, and has 750 members in 30 WIs, which enables us to keep in close contact with each WI and its members.
Since our foundation in 1950 we have taken an active interest in island life. We have a very varied programme of events for members, organised by individual WIs and by our four main sub-committees: Crafts and Home Economics, Public Affairs & Science, Arts and Leisure and Agricultural Show.
Our showcase each year is the WI marquee at the two agricultural shows, held in July and August. If you are looking to make new friends, learn new crafts or just want to enjoy leisure activities in a friendly atmosphere, please take a look at our web pages.
Alternatively, you can contact our federation office by email, telephone or post for more details.
The WI offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn to widen their horizons and together influence local, national and international affairs.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.
