The federation was formed in 1977 and has 77 institutes, mostly rural areas, but with a few in the towns. The institutes vary in size from quite small, with 13 members to very large, with 83 members.

We have a very friendly membership and a warm welcome is extended to new members and visitors. Our headquarters are situated in Sleaford, where we hold our meetings.

Both the federation and the sub-committees organise events and workshops, and try to use different venues throughout our large area.
