| With around 4000 members and 140 institutes we are one of the larger federations, combining the best of the past with the knowledge of the present, whilst looking for the innovative bright ideas of the future.
In Somerset we have lots on offer to suit all outlooks on life. Craft sessions are always well attended, as are painting and drawing classes, and having our own demonstration kitchen in our WI House, we also offer numerous cookery and related courses. Sporting tournaments, skittles, scrabble, bowls etc, are popular, as are other leisure activities.
W.Is hold regular meetings every month, though members often meet for social events at other times. Monthly metings are timed to suit the members, some in the evening, others in the afternoon and a few in the mornings. As a WI member you can hear interesting monthly speakers and join in as many or few other activities as you wish.
To find the nearest W.I to you contact our Taunton Office - there will probably be a WI not too far from your home - but if there isn't and you think the women in your community would like to join us we would be delighted to hear from you so that we my meet to discuss all the possibilities. We are always on the look out for places to start new W.Is.
