Maggie Simons | | | Maggie began work in international licensing and technology, formed a partnership with a friend to provide research, was sub-editor on an organic gardening magazine and now runs a small family property company.
In 1990, following in her mother’s WI footsteps, she joined West Buckland WI and served as Secretary, Vice-president and Assistant treasurer. Co-opted on to Somerset Federation Executive Committee, she was Treasurer for five years and chaired committees, including Finance and Special Events.
Moving to Wiltshire in 2005, Maggie joined Bishopstone with Hinton Parva WI and currently chairs Wiltshire Federation’s Public Affairs Committee. The same year she was elected on to the Board of Trustees. She is currently Chair of the Education Committee, sits on the Denman College Committee and is a member of the WI Enterprises Board.
Her many interests include craft and entertaining, gardening and ‘entering flower shows’.
