Craft has always played an important role in the WI. WI members are known for their excellence in craft skills and are instrumental in keeping many crafts alive today. We offer members the chance to develop  existing skills or learn new ones. For craft project you can do at home please go to our Craft Projects page.

The NFWI is working with The Crafts Council and the UK Hand Knitting Association to help teach young people to knit.To find out more visit the Craft Club website or the Craft Club page on the NFWI website.

We have been working with the National Needlework Archive for the past three years, to put together a record of WI textiles and held an exhibition in Summer 2007. You can read more about this on the Textile Treasures exhibition page.WI members knitting
