Traditional Craft Skills

WI members from across Wales attended a Teaching Children to Knit workshop on 14 October 2010 hosted by Rowan Wool and John Lewis.
Following their involvement in the days, members will be identifying opportunities to teach children and young people various crafts such as knitting, crochet, patchwork and paper crafts through schools, after-school clubs and other community events.

Twelve members from North Wales attended a workshop at Abakhan Fabrics, Mostyn on 5 May 2011. Excellent hints and tips were received and members made friendship bracelets, weaved their own creepy crawly and knitted fingerless mittens, a mobile phone cover and a mug cosy. Members left full of enthusiasm and looking forward to passing their skills on to children in their local schools.

Abakhan Fabrics provided a venue, craft tutor and wool to support the workshop.
