2011 is the 90th Anniversary of Gwent Federation

The Federation will be holding a number of celebrations throughout the year, starting with an Anniversary Service on 21 February, this is the actual date that the formation meeting took place in Abergavenny.

A Family Fun Day is being planned for June and

A Formal Dinner is to be held in the Autumn.


COMBINED ARTS

Federation show day is our arena in which to showcase and recognise members skills in crafts, cookery and horticulture.
This day is open to the public to come and view.

The Federation Quilters are busy making  mini quilts (pennants) in support of Quilts4London, to be displayed at the Olympic Games in 2012

LETS COOK PROGRAMME
GFWI are running more courses in the Blaenau Gwent area to promote Healthy Eating and to advise young mothers on basic cookery skills to provide a balanced diet for their children.


SPORTS & LEISURE

Preparations and preliminary sports competitions are being held in advance of the Wales Inter-Federation Sports Event in September 2011    

Monthly Walks continue to be enjoyed by members.


CURRENT AFFAIRS

Lunchtime Discussions are held  covering a wide variety of topics such as
