WI Advisers

To help all WIs, NFWI trains and appoints advisers to give them support in each federation, and advisers give specific advice on how to run a WI. They run the training days or workshops for all committee members and are always ready to help at the end of a phone. They will attend Annual Meetings to help when there is a problem filling a particular job, oversee procedure, and generally give information. They are the people tasked with opening new WIs.

They also help with forming groups in a local area so that members can get to know one another more fully. They are the backbone of the WI organisation, and a vital link in the chain of information between NFWI, each federation, and every single WI.

Advisers in Surrey are formed into the Membership Committee chaired by Pat Ashworth, and here they are with a list of the WIs and groups they look after, so if your WI needs help - even if you are not actually part of the group specified, you can contact the designated adviser for your area.

Ann Lillywhite has recently been appointed as a new WI Adviser and is looking after the following Group of WIs: DOWNFOLD; Albury Eve, Alfold Eve, Busbridge Evde, Cranleigh Eve, Ewhurst Eve, Farncombe Eve, Jam Free, Tillingbourne Valley.

WI Adviser Sheila Tickner
Sheila Tickner, WI Adviser, looks after the following WIs: BOURNE '69; Brookwood, Chobham Eve, Heatherside, Horsell Aft, Horsell Village, Mayford Eve, Old Woking Eve, St. Johns Eve, West End Woking Eve. CHOBHAM RIDGES; Bagshot, Bisley, Lightwater, Mytchett, Windlesham, Deepcut.

All Advisers are fully trained and refreshed by NFWI,and our adviser helpers (although not fully trained to that standard) give assistance where they can due to the large areas and distances involved for the Advisers to cover.If members are interested in becoming advisers they should contact the office. The work, besides being very important, is also fun and "get-togethers" are needed to keep up to date.

When WI Advisers have important decisions to make, they put their heads together and work hard. Then they reward themselves with a tasty meal and a glass of wine!
