The Notts County Show 2012

The County Show will take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May 2012.

The WI Area will be in the Lady Eastwood Pavillion.

The Schedule for the WI Co-operative Competition Theme for 2012 is  "FEASTS & FESTIVALS"

The WI Competition is to choose a feast or festival, Design an A5 flyer - do a craft  - and Floral Art Exhibit. Then stage all these items on a board.

and the

Individual Competition : 3 Decorated Cup Cakes has been sent to WIs in December.

Here is a wonderful display of  WI Competition entries for the 2011 WI Competition. They were a joy to see – Russia, Italy, Japan, China, Holland was popular choice as was America. They certainly showed the public the skills and talents of WI members –The Overall Winners, taking the Lady Sybil Argyles trophy were Granby & Sutton WI with 97 ½ pts

  who also took the Best Craft Trophy.
In Second place were Eakring WI with 96 pts and they also won the Best Model Trophy and this year we had a ‘Public Choice’ trophy which they also won. Eakring WI
Taking Third place were Worksop WI with 93 pts   – very well done to them as they also won the Novice Trophy  Worksop WI
 and the Best Cookery Trophy was won by Dorewood WI.  Dorewood WI

The Individual Competition ‘ A Handbag’ was very popular with 40 entries again showing some superb craftsmanship, I’m only sorry that we didn’t have enough space to display them well. Congratulations to the winner who was Lynn Hadland, Grove WI whose entry could have been used by the Queen at the Royal Wedding – it was made in beautiful Yellow Satin.Individual Winner
