Count Down to Christmas

Members of North Yorkshire West Federation hosted their Countdown to Christmas Event on Friday 9th December. In the 10 classes which included crafts, cookery, photography and floral Art, there were 381 entries, an amazing feat for a small Federation. The judges from the Ripon Photography Society, Ripon Flower Club and Lancashire Federation of WI’s, were impressed with the high standard of entries. The overall winner of this Christmas Show was Roecliffe WI. In second place was Aldborough, Boroughbridge and Dunsforth WI and third was Bainbridge WI. Members and friends descended in droves to Alma House (Federation Office in Ripon) to view and celebrate the magnificent display of work by the members.  As usual the soup and sweet lunch was delicious and recipes can now be found in our latest cookbook which was launched at this event. ‘Cooking with Anne’, created by Anne Harrison, from Bainbridge WI in Wensleydale. She took time out from cooking the lunch and refreshments to sign her cookbook. Follow the WI trend and purchase your copy £7.50 or £9 including postage and package, from Alma House, Lower St Agnesgate, Ripon HG4 1NG or phone 01765606339WI
