Before having her children, Pat worked in advertising and fashion. Later she retrained, gaining teaching and subject qualifications, and held posts of Lecturer in Craft in Greenwich Adult Education, Head of Centre and Youth and Family Workshop Tutor.
She joined the NFWI in 1997 as  the Craft Adviser and became Head of the NFWI Unit in 2008. The position of Head of the NFWI Unit involves managing the four staff members who are the HE Adviser, Accreditation Officer,  Administration Secretary of the Education committee and Senior Administration Secretary of the Training committee. As Craft Adviser, Pat also has responsibility for all aspects of craft at a national level. She is also an NFWI Craft Judge, OCN Moderator and City & Guilds Internal Verifier.

Pat enjoys teaching Patchwork & Quilting at Denman, and is the college’s lead tutor for Textile Craft. She also makes quilts with a small group, ‘Passepartout’, and has a small obsession about collecting seashells.
