March News

March is a significant time in our Federation calendar as members from across the county come together for our Annual Council Meeting. As well as covering important WI business we look forward to being informed as we hear about whats going on and planned in GFWI and we look forward to being entertained by our guest speakers Adam Henson and David Barby.

The Resolution voting results are in for Gloucestershire. This year is the first time that the opportunity has been given for every WI member nationally to have her own vote for a resolution. Encouragingly Gloucestershire members have responded well because 817 members voted out of a membership of just under 5,000. Previously at January short list meetings only about 80 members have voted on behalf of the rest of the membership. Hopefully next year the year the response will be even higher Listed below are the results for the county.

Over one hundred and seventy Gloucestershire members will once again enjoy Ladies Day at the Cheltenham Festival on 18 March.  We are sure that they will enjoy a marvellous day out!

Now that the sunshine seems finally to be here why not get out into the countryside and enjoy a walk at St Briavels (20 March) or at Blockley (10 March).
