If you’d like to try your hand at becoming our new columnist, please send two 400-word articles on the following subject areas:
• The biggest challenge facing the WI • Something I care about (could be an event, a group, a single person, or an issue facing your community)
Please try to keep your style as conversational and chatty as possible – imagine you’re talking to a fellow WI member if that helps. You’re article needn’t be side-splittingly funny, but should be light-hearted and humorous if the subject matters permits. It doesn’t matter where you live, what your age is or whether you’re a professional writer or a talented amateur. What’s crucial, whatever you choose to write about, is that your personality shines through.
Please send your articles, complete with all your contact details and a covering letter to: WI Life columnist competition, 104 New King’s Road, London SW6 4LY or email n.maidment@nfwi.org.uk.
Please note, we are looking for prose not poetry. Regrettably we will be unable to return submissions. Closing date for applications is Friday 26 September 2008. |
