What is Women Reaching Women?
The NFWI is working with Oxfam GB and the Everyone Foundation on a three year development, gender and climate change educational campaign. Women Reaching Women aims to broaden awareness of these issues amongst WI members, their families and communities.

WI members have spearheaded work on women's rights in the UK and now they are at the forefront of supporting the efforts of women all over the world to achieve recognition of their rights and join together to tackle climate change internationally.

The Campaign So Far
In the first year of this project the NFWI held a training event for participating federations at Denman College from 8-10 October 2008. At this event, federation representatives learned about current gender and development issues and received support to coordinate inspirational events for the WI and their communities.

Workbook
A workbook has been produced to act as a resource for you. It provides information about gender and development issues in more depth including: inequality, health, education, aid/debt/trade, violence, participation and climate change. The chapters explore the global challenges we all face today, and propose some principles and tools to help you make sense of, and influence, the direction of change in the future. We hope you will find it interesting and share it with others.

The aim of this workbook is to enable you to spread the view that we are all human beings who have an impact on the way our shared future will look, and a responsibility to look after each other's interests. The action pack section at the back of the book will help you to plan and organise development events both large and small. Together we can change the world, improving life on this planet for everyone.

This project is part-funded by the Department for International Development.
