Climate Change Campaign

The climate is changing as a result of human activity with the solution being all of our responsibilities. The WI is working to tackle climate change in the following ways...

A World Without Jam Video

A World Without Jam is a visually striking short film which captures our members’ knowledge and enthusiasm for fighting climate change. We hope this film will motivate more people to start up new conversations about climate change and inspire them to take action together.Powerstation with cows in foreground

Stop Climate Chaos

The NFWI is part of the Stop Climate Chaos which aims to build a massive coalition that will create an irresistible public mandate for political action to stop human-induced climate change.

We are calling on the UK Government to take:

ACTION AT HOME: introduce a Climate Bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 3% per year.
ACTION INTERNATIONALLY: ensure that global greenhouse gas emissions are cut by at least 80% by 2050.
ACTION FOR JUSTICE: deliver assistance to developing countries to adapt to climate change and give access to clean energy to meet their developmental needs.

We still need to ensure we insist that the Government:

- Increase the carbon dioxide target from 60, to at least 80%.
- Include the UK’s share from international aviation and shipping in the emissions reduction targets.
