Georgiana Mannion was the founder member of Buns & Roses WI and was only 23 when she decided that she wanted to be involved with the WI.

For younger people like myself who are based in cities and work full time and seem to have all the stresses in the world, I would encourage them to join for a sense of community –

Georgiana has been heavily involved in crafts and has learnt skills in creative embroidery, fascinator making, quilting, origami, illustration, vintage hairstyling and makeup, and card making. She is also very proud of two events which she organised for her WI; a 40s & 50s-themed event where WI members learnt lindy hop dancing, vintage hair and makeup and indulged in afternoon tea, and a Winter Warmer Mixer party with a craft fair, raffle and cake competition.
