Release your inner author
It's the first Thursday in the month and we all know what that means – Lady club. This time, we were changing venues from our regular Tea and Tarts' venue at Huddersfield Town Hall and we were heading to the Vajrapani Buddhist Centre, in Birkby where we would be releasing our 'inner author' with some creative writing.

A group of us met for a pre-club dinner at my favourite town centre restaurant, Med One, where we dined on an amazing array of Lebanese dishes before heading off to the club. One of my friends (and newish tart) had been before some set up a small a convoy to follow her there.
The venue looked to be a former church with a high vaulted ceiling and huge windows casting a lovely evening light into the rooms below.
Our first speaker, Marco Zaffino, talked about his experience of writing a novel and he read us an excerpt from his latest published novel.
There was a brief pause for a visit to the meditation room next door. Then it was time for tea and our next speaker, Michelle Hodgson. Michelle is a former journalist turned copywriter and publisher. She was an excellent and engaging speaker and she gave us a couple of exercises to do - one of our own and then another in pairs. Both were great thought exercises and a fun evening was had by all. I'm not going to give the game away but if you would like to invite Michelle to your WI, you can contact her via her website, http://key-words.co.uk/.
