Julia Roberts
Julia spent 20 years working for a large building society, acting as Branch Supervisor for several years. For the past 15 years Julia has been developing skills in archiving, working in Records Management for Worcestershire County Council. In her current position, she works alongside a team of assistants as a Senior Archives Assistant. On top of working full-time, Julia spent nine years acting as a housemaster’s wife and mother to 45 boys at King’s Worcester boarding school between 1980 and 1989, before having children of her own.
Julia is a dual member of both Martley and Hanley Castle WI, first joining the WI in 1991. Julia has been a committee member for 19 years, acting as Treasurer for eleven and Vice President for several years.
She was Chairman of Worcestershire Federation between 2008 and 2011. Julia served as Assistant Federation Treasurer between 2000 and 2004, Federation Treasurer between 2004 and 2008, a Denman Representative and finally Chairman of the Ad Hoc Show Committee 2012. Julia has also trained as an Independent Financial Examiner Trainer and she was elected to the NFWI Board in 2011.
At a national level, Julia sits on the Finance, Membership and Denman College committees. She is also part of the WI Life Editorial Board.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys singing in her local choir, walking and visiting the theatre. Julia also has special interests in history, Portugal and literature. She is a member of the Three Counties Agricultural society and the National Trust.
