Welcome to Lancashire

And welcome to the WI in Lancashire. Wherever you go in Lancashire you are never far from a WI. We have 6,000 members in 140 WIs situated in quiet rural villages, busy towns and urban communities.

The WI is very much part of any community.   As you wander through a village you will be able to tell whether it has a WI.

Lancashire's Chairman - Sally Roberts
Apart from the poster on the notice board welcoming you to the next meeting there will be support and involvement with the local shop, post office, school and village hall.  The public spaces may have seats provided or some daffodils planted.

The WI is also a fantastic network with members meeting and exchanging news and views at the many events put on by Lancashire Federation, including the large annual council meeting in March which draws 1200 members.

If you are interested in joining the WI have a look at ‘WIs’ to see where they are. You can go along as a visitor and you do not have to join the first one you go to. Alternatively if there isn’t one convenient and you can find some like minded friends then contact us and we will consider opening a new one. We do try and open one or two new WIs every year.

Whether you have been a member for 30 years or 30 days I look forward to seeing you somewhere soon!

Best wishes

Sally Roberts
