However, do remember the office staff cannot make bookings over the phone and you must contact your secretary to place your ticket order through your WI. 

13 November 2008 - "A WINTER'S DAY" Watercolour Painting Day
During this day, we will be using varoius techniques and effects to paint 'winter landscape' which could be turned into a greetings card.

A comprehensive list of requirements needed for the day, given to us by tutor Wendy Williams, will be sent with tickets.  Please ring WI House if you would like a copy earlier than this.

14 November 2008 - Jammers Dance for Pudsey Bear
Friday 14 November is the day chosen for the charity ‘Children in Need’ this year.

Jerusalem Jammers annually dance out in the early evenings and this year you can see us at Leicester Forest East service station. We will again be joined by Bakanalia, who dance Border Morris. Seek us out at 7pm!

Two Practises in November from 10am -12 noon Sat 8/11 at St Barts Church Hall, Kirby Muxloe and Sat 29/11 at Hastings High School, Burbage

15 November 2009  -  STONEY STANTON WI CRAFT FAIR 2008

Manorfield School Community Centre. Station Road.

noon – 3.30 pm Entrance 50p

Accompanied children free.

See & Do – Pay and take away your effort at Pastel drawing,

Bag making, small flower arranging, calligraphy etc. Craft stalls. Display by the Stoney Stanton Heritage group.

Homemade refreshments & cream teas


6 December 2008 - CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE
You are invited to visit us here at WI House for one of the final events of the Federation's "Nice to be Ninety" birthday year.  Why not come along, park you car at WI House, go into town on the bus;  then come back, take in the House's Christmas Decorations, and relax with coffee or tea and light refresments.  Gifts and Stationery will also be for sale during the day.  There will also be a FUN competition for a small wrapped present (which doesn't even have to contain a gift) - to be judged on wrapping and decoration only.

13 December 2008 - CHRISTMAS CONCERT
To bring our 90th Birthday year to a delightful finale there will be a Christmas Concert at the All Nations Centre on Frog Island.  Why not come along and celebrate after Christmas shopping in the morning?  Starting at 2.30pm, the concert will finish with coffee or tea and mince pies.  Parking is free but limited, so you still need to book a space and entry to the car parking will be by concert ticket only.  Of course, if you can, come by bus.

12 January 2009 - WHICH RESOLUTION?
This is your chance to debate the shortlisted resolutions for 2009 and influence the AGM in June 2009 at the Royal Albert Hall.   We look at each resolution in turn, with a five minute presentation of the background and general discussion.  We then vote for our preferred selection for the AGM.  All Federations will discuss the same shortlist.  We may well select those that are on the AGM Agenda.  In the afternoon, there will be a speaker on a current WI Mandate.  Lunch is available which must be booked at the time of ordering your tickets.

16 February 2009 - THOSE SENIOR MOMENTS
A Health Seminar on Mental Health in Old Age.  Experts will tell us about the symptoms, diagnosis and causes of distressing mental health conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

17 February 2009 - SPRING OUT OF WINTER
After yet another miserable summer in 2008, which seemed to drift so quickly into dark nights and cold weather, come along and "Spring out of Winter" with the Home Economics team. In the morning, Mrs Honor Harris from Ketton WI will be demonstrating some tasty recipes you to try at home and after a delicious HE hot lunch, you can settle down in the company of the ever-popular Mrs Joan Bootheway who returns to create some stunning floral arrangements.
