ACWW LUNCH - 9th April

With 85 members booked for this lunch it was one of the most successful ever.  It meant that a great deal of money was raised for the Pinocchio project - that is to help the street and sewer children of Romania.  Our guest at the last lunch was Mioara Teodorescu who spoke movingly to us about what she and her colleagues do and hope to achieve.  At this lunch we took £117 on the raffle alone and coupled with this we had a very entertaining speaker in Dona Joseph of Llanwennog WI who spoke and showed us slides of her visit to Tanzania, the country she was born in but left at 2 years old.  She brought many beautiful carved artifacts along and was dressed in the traditional way.

We were pleased to have her mother and great aunt as guests and hope that at the October lunch, members will fill the dining room again.

Ceredigion Federation ACWW co-ordinator Eirlys Davies can provide information literature to anyone who wants to know more about ACWW or who would like to become an individual member or member institute.  Contact her through Ein Swyddfa.
